Taylor Swift confessed to a truly strange habit that her husband, Travis Kelce, must live with every single day. During a Q&A session on Sunday, the pop star revealed she and her childhood best friend, Abigail Anderson, still talk in “Napoleon Dynamite” voices. According to Page Six, Swift joked that this “weird” habit is something their husbands have to put up with.

It takes a special kind of patience to be married to a woman who keeps acting out movie characters from 2004 just to make her friends laugh. Kelce is a tough guy on the football field, but he has to sit at home and listen to his wife do voices for her pal. This isn’t just a one-time joke either. The two women have been doing this for decades, ever since they were teenagers in high school.

Decades of Inside Jokes

The friendship between Swift and Anderson goes back to when Swift was just 14 years old and moved to Nashville. She recalled being the new kid and trying to figure out who to be friends with. “When I moved to Nashville when I was 14, you know, you’re the new kid in school and you’re like, ‘Who should I be friends with? These girls are cool, these girls are cool, these are nice girls,'” she told the crowd. But then she found Abigail.

Anderson saw Swift for the “strange, little genre that is you [Swift] for their purest,” the songwriter explained. That bond has lasted through weddings, babies, and now marriage to one of the most famous men in sports.

Anderson married Charles Berard in 2022, and the pair shares a 2-year-old son named Bennett. Yet, more than twenty years later, those silly voices are still part of their daily conversations. “We still do this,” Taylor admitted to the audience. “It’s something our husbands have to put up with.”

Swift even gave the crowd a taste of her imitation of Jon Heder’s character from the movie during the event. She was discussing the joy of “finding someone who’s the same genre as weird and silly as you are,” like the characters in “Toy Story 5.” The film came out in June, and it reminded her of her own long-standing friendship. It is sweet to see them stay so close, but one has to wonder if Kelce ever wishes for a quiet dinner without the voices.

A Husband’s Silent Struggle

Being married to a global superstar means your life is public, but having to deal with a “weird” habit in private is a different kind of challenge. Kelce is used to loud stadiums and rowdy crowds, but this is a different kind of noise.

The Grammy winner noted that both she and Anderson are 36 years old now, yet they refuse to grow out of their high school impressions. The fact that they “still … talk in ‘Napoleon Dynamite’ voices” shows how deep their connection runs.

It is easy to make fun of celebrities for their quirks, but this specific habit highlights how important their friendship is. They have been friends since high school, and that bond is the real story here. The voices are just a symbol of a relationship that has survived time and fame.

Kelce might not say it, but he is lucky to be married to a woman who found her true match in someone who understands her “weird” side. The only thing he has to put up with is the noise, not the loneliness.
