Kelce’s Raw Admission Shows Chiefs Must Fix Mistakes Now

Travis Kelce admits frustration with his own mistakes after the Chiefs' 28-24 loss to Denver. The team must fix these errors or lose the division.

While the Kansas City Chiefs were losing a late lead in Denver on Sunday, Taylor Swift was in New York City for a screening and Q&A tied to Toy Story 5.

The Broncos defeated the Chiefs 28-24 at Empower Field at Mile High. Kansas City led 24-13 in the fourth quarter before Denver scored 15 unanswered points. A potential game-winning touchdown for the Chiefs was wiped out by a false start, and Patrick Mahomes was sacked on the final play. The loss dropped Kansas City to 5-2 and moved Denver (6-2) into first place in the AFC West.

Swift was not shown on the broadcast and has not been publicly seen at any Chiefs road game this season. She has attended every home game at Arrowhead Stadium since her July 3 wedding to Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden. Her most recent appearance came Oct. 18 against the Chargers, when she watched from a suite with Caitlin Clark and Este Haim.

A Sunday Spent on Toy Story 5

Instead of traveling to Denver, Swift attended an all-guild screening of Toy Story 5 in New York followed by a conversation with director Andrew Stanton. She wrote the film’s end-credits song, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

During the Q&A, she spoke about her longtime friendship with Abigail Anderson, noting that the two bonded as teenagers over Napoleon Dynamite impressions and still use the voices with each other. She said the film’s friendship between Bonnie and Blaze reminded her of that relationship. She also discussed how her brother Austin first brought the project to her attention and described checking to make sure she wasn’t displacing another writer on the song.

The event took place the same day the Chiefs were in Denver. Swift has limited her public game appearances to Arrowhead this season, a pattern that has held for road games against Seattle, Las Vegas, and now Denver. Next week, the Chiefs return home to face the Jets, a setting where she has been present throughout the year.
