You would think a spooky Halloween game in Boulder would cost a pretty penny, but the cheapest ticket to see the Colorado Buffaloes play Kansas State has crashed to just $25. That price point is a new low for the fall season, dropping the get-in cost by half since the start of October. While families usually pay extra for holiday fun, the market for this noon kickoff has cooled quickly after five straight losses.

On Wednesday, Vivid Seats offered the lowest price at $27, whereas Gametime listed seats from $25. Per Sports Illustrated, this is a sharp drop from the $55 starting price seen on SeatGeek before week 7. The athletic department originally set single-game prices at $88 in July, so the current resale value is well below the school’s initial asking price.

Why the Price Crash Happened

Any market would chill under five straight losses, and a noon Halloween kickoff rivals costume parties and trick-or-treating for many families. A Kansas State squad with a 4-3 record and no marquee name fails to drive fans to purchase tickets.

Colorado is even discounting seats itself to try and fill the stadium for the Buffs Halloween Bash before kickoff. Tailgaters at Benson Field, Franklin Field, and adjacent lots are requested to bring candy, and trick-or-treaters receive clear bags to carry their haul inside.

For the festivities, the school established one clear rule: “all masks and all weapons, real or simulated, are prohibited.” When asked what the Buffaloes must do to defeat Kansas State on Saturday, Coach Deion Sanders offered a brief yet direct answer Tuesday.

The Real Problem on the Field

Sanders stated that improvement must span both offense and defense, with penalties remaining a specific frustration for the team. “That’s the only thing we’re consistent in is getting penalties,” Sanders said. “And that doesn’t make sense to me, but we’ve got to do better. Got to prepare much better.” The team entered the game with a 2-5 record after being outscored heavily in the second half of a 57-24 loss at Oklahoma State.

Sanders highlights progress on special teams, noting that Colorado has shown greater consistency recently and must sustain that improvement. “I feel like the last couple of weeks, special teams-wise, haven’t heard you guys ask any special teams questions,” Sanders said. Running and throwing the ball, as well as generating turnovers, were among his other concerns. At Oklahoma State, Colorado committed three turnovers and could not establish a productive rushing attack.

Monday, Kansas State coach Collin Klein noted that Colorado poses challenges via its personnel and the schemes employed by offensive coordinator Brennan Marion and defensive coordinator Chris Marve.

On Nov. 13, Houston arrives for a Friday night game, with tickets starting at $38 on Gametime and $40 on Vivid Seats, while UCF concludes the home schedule on Nov. 28, with tickets starting at $42 on Gametime and $43 on Vivid Seats. No remaining home game costs less than the Kansas State matchup, making the Halloween game the cheapest entry point left on the calendar. Both teams aim to resolve execution issues on Saturday, as Colorado continues to seek its first Big 12 win.
