Lamb And Guyton Are Good To Go

The Dallas Cowboys get a massive relief boost just days after a brutal loss. Stephen Jones confirmed that CeeDee Lamb will play against the Green Bay Packers. The team owner’s son also said left tackle Tyler Guyton is healthy too. This news stops the bleeding for a fan base that just watched their team crumble in primetime. Lamb sat out the end of the game on Thursday with a quad issue. Now, the star receiver is set to return for the Sunday night matchup.

Jones spoke on 105.3 The Fan on Friday to clear up the confusion. He gave a clear update on both injured starters. “I think they’ll be fine, I think both of them are in good shape.” Jones said as he described the status of the wide receiver and the tackle. He did not hold back on the timeline for their return. “I think both CeeDee and Tyler will be all ready to go for Green Bay.” This statement ends the speculation about who will line up on the field.

The timing of this return could not be more critical for the offense. Dallas just lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 24-16 in a game many thought they should win. The team fell to a 2-3 record after that ugly performance on Thursday night. Without Lamb, the passing attack struggled to find a rhythm. Yet, the stats show the offense can move the ball without him if needed. Last season, the team recorded more passing yards in games without Lamb than with him. But having him back changes the entire look of the attack.

Dak Prescott Draws The Line

While the injury news is good, the mood in the locker room remains tense. Quarterback Dak Prescott was not happy with a comment made by a stadium worker. The worker called the loss “embarrassing” as Prescott walked by the field. The four-time Pro Bowl QB stared at the employee before telling a staff member to get him out of there. Prescott later explained his reaction during his postgame media availability.

Prescott felt the worker was being a coward for not saying it to his face. “When he said it I just happened to look at him, and at that point he looked away, didn’t look, and when I turned my head back, he said something else,” Prescott said, according to Yahoo Sports. He believes people should own their words if they choose to speak them. As a man or person, you are free to express your thoughts, which is the point being made. Just speak it. The incident adds drama to a week that already feels heavy.

The loss to Tampa Bay hurt, but Prescott defended the opponent and the coaching staff. He said he would hate to discredit the Buccaneers or their coach Todd Bowles. The plan the Bucs used was the reason for the loss, according to reports. He insisted that Dallas was supposed to win that game against a winless team. The Cowboys now face two tough back-to-back matchups against the Packers and the Eagles. They need Lamb back to fix the issues that led to the loss.

The Cowboys must win these games they are supposed to win. Prescott noted that the team is supposed to beat a winless squad in primetime. “In this league, you’ve got to win the games you’re supposed to win, and when a winless team comes into your home stadium on a Thursday night, prime time game, yeah, we’re supposed to win that.” That pressure is now on the whole group as they prepare for Green Bay.

Stephen Jones made it clear that the team is moving forward from the disaster. The return of Lamb and Guyton gives the offense the tools it needs to bounce back.
