Tiger Woods And Rory McIlroy Release TGL Schedule With Major Broadcast Shift

Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy release the 2027 TGL schedule, featuring a surprise double-header opener and three ABC broadcasts to reach new fans.

The 2027 TGL schedule opens with a double-header on Sunday, December 27, 2026. This start time marks a sharp pivot toward prime-time viewing, with three matches moving to the ABC network instead of just one. The league aims to capture younger audiences and international fans by shifting games to earlier evening windows. The 14-match regular season kicks off in Palm Beach Gardens.

Kevin Kisner confirmed earlier this month that Woods intends to play a full schedule after sitting out most of 2026. Injury kept the 50-year-old in a non-playing role last year, he appeared only in the season finale. Kisner told the Fore Play Podcast, “I’m not on the team anymore,” after revealing Woods wants to return to action, according to Sky Sports. The Jupiter Links roster now includes Keith Mitchell, who replaced Kisner on the team. “Tiger wants to play and they wanted to sign Keith Mitchell, which is totally fine with me,” Kisner added during his interview.

The Opening Night Double Header

Season three launches with two matches at the SoFi Center on Sunday, December 27, 2026. McIlroy’s Boston Common Golf faces the new Motor City Golf Club team at 1:00 PM ET. The Motor City squad features Brooks Koepka and rising star Jackson Koivun.

Woods’ Jupiter Links Golf Club takes the field two hours later against the defending champions, Los Angeles Golf Club. This matchup repeats last season’s SoFi Cup Finals, setting up an immediate rivalry between the two top teams. The league expanded to seven teams this year, adding the Motor City franchise to the mix.

Each team now fields five players in their roster, up from the previous format. The regular season requires each club to play four group fixtures before the playoffs begin. Three players from each team compete in every match during the regular season. The semi-finals are set for the week beginning March 15, 2027. A best-of-three series will decide the champion in late March. The new play-in game on March 2 will determine the final spot in the semi-finals.

Broadcast Changes and New Teams

Three matches will air on ABC during the 2027 season, a significant jump from the single game shown last year. The league also aims to reach international audiences with earlier primetime start times.

The seven teams competing this season include Atlanta Drive GC, Boston Common Golf, and Jupiter Links Golf Club. Los Angeles Golf Club returns as the defending champion with Tommy Fleetwood and Collin Morikawa on the roster. The Motor City Golf Club brings Brooks Koepka and Si Woo Kim to the league. New York Golf Club features Rickie Fowler and Matt Fitzpatrick as key players. The Bay Golf Club rounds out the field with Wyndham Clark and Ludvig Ã…berg. Each team has signed new players to fill their five-man rosters for the expanded season.

Woods and McIlroy Ownership Roles

Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy co-founded TMRW Sports and hold ownership stakes in the league. They also serve as captains for their respective teams while managing the business side. This dual role creates a unique dynamic where the league owners are also the stars on the course. The 2026 season saw Los Angeles Golf Club win the final against Jupiter Links. Boston Common Golf finished first in the regular season but lost in the semi-finals. The 2027 schedule aims to build on the momentum from these first two seasons.

Rufus Hack thanked the television partners for their continued support of the league. “We’re grateful to ESPN for continuing to invest in TGL and showcase the league across its platforms,” Hack said. The league hopes the new broadcast windows will make it easier for fans to watch the world’s best players compete. The unique team format combines simulator play with short-game bays on real grass. This setup allows for a two-hour broadcast window that fits into prime-time slots. The changes reflect a push to make golf more accessible to a wider audience.

The regular season concludes before the semi-finals take place in March. Fans can expect to see more weekend games and earlier start times throughout the campaign. The league continues to grow with new teams and new players joining the roster. The 2027 schedule represents a major step forward for indoor team golf. Woods and McIlroy have set a clear path for the league to expand its reach. The double-header opener on December 27 will test the new format with two high-profile matches.
