The Los Angeles Rams superteam is a total fraud. After bringing back Aaron Donald and adding Myles Garrett and Trent McDuffie, everyone expected a title run. Instead, the team sits at 2-4 following a 18-16 loss to the 1-4 Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. The talent is there, but the execution is nonexistent.

The talent on this roster is massive, but stars alone do not win games. This team has lost three games against top-tier opponents since the start of the season. The Rams lost to the 49ers in Melbourne, fell to the Broncos in Week 3, and dropped to the Bills on Monday Night Football in Week 5. Now, they are losing to bad teams like Arizona. It is time to stop looking at injuries and start looking at the coaching.

The offense is stuck in neutral

You cannot fix an offense by just adding more defensive players. While fans wait for Myles Garrett to return from knee surgery, the actual problem is Matthew Stafford. On Sunday, Stafford averaged only 4.8 air yards per attempt, which Fox Sports notes was his third-worst number as a Ram. This happened against an Arizona pass defense that allowed 236.8 yards per game heading into the matchup.

The lack of energy is visible to everyone. Running back Kyren Williams even called out the coaching staff regarding his playing time. When players are openly criticizing the staff over usage, you know the locker room is in trouble.

McVay has no answers for the collapse

Sean McVay looks completely lost. The Rams’ issues span from the offense to special teams, and the head coach seems unable to find a solution.

The team is simply beating itself. They have struggled with turnovers and special teams mistakes all season. Even with the return of Puka Nacua, the unit has failed to find any rhythm. Relying on the return of defensive stars like Garrett or McDuffie will not fix a broken offensive scheme or a lack of discipline.

A historic uphill battle remains

The math for a comeback is nearly impossible. To win the Super Bowl after this start, the Rams would have to do something unprecedented. According to ESPN, the Rams would become the first team in the Super Bowl era to win their conference after starting 2-4 through six weeks. The 17-game season and the 14-team playoff format might offer a small window, but the current trajectory points toward a massive disappointment.
